Red light therapy just got an upgrade.
An emerging at-home wellness technology, red light therapy utilizes red and near-infrared light to stimulate cellular energy production in a process called photobiomodulation. “Most of the market right now is geared specifically toward skin and facial benefits of the technology,” says Danny Hanks, Chief Operations Coordinator. “Our philosophy is to take those benefits and apply them to the whole body.”

After a series of injuries while serving in the U.S. Army, Hanks and his fellow veterans found themselves exploring alternative wellness modalities, hoping to avoid heavy reliance on painkillers. “Red light therapy is one that really stood out to us. There’s a lot of science backing it—it’s not just hype.”
He then dove headfirst into finding ways to get this technology into consumers' hands. For full-body residential applications, however, Hanks and his team knew the traditional tanning-bed aesthetic needed improvement. Aiming for warmer, sleeker and more sophisticated, the Elysian Pod was born: hand-built in Bluffdale, each pod includes panels of clinically-tested diode lights and sports a modern, geometric form, clad in panels of graceful Baltic birch.
“Our production team, Devin Bascom and Jason Hadley, are incredible designers and craftsmen,” Hanks shares. “The quality design of our product is largely thanks to their precision.”
That focus on appearance typifies a noteworthy shift in the fields of home wellness. Where saunas, cold plunges and other wellness tech once were relegated to home gyms or spare rooms, Elysian Pods strives to transform the technology into something homeowners will want to showcase rather than hide away.
