You likely have seen Shea McGee on Netflix. If you’re a trendy shopper, you’ve spotted her designs in collaboration with Target’s Threshold collection. Starting this fall, design lovers can experience McGee & Co in the flesh at the brand’s first-ever brick-and-mortar storefront.
Located in Trolley Square’s Design Row, the McGee & Co flagship reimagines the traditional home decor shop, wanting to create a more tactile experience for fans of their previously online-only brand. Rather than divisions by product type, the store is arranged into a series of room vignettes to demonstrate how different pieces can work together. While shoppers can interact with materials and furnishings up close, the store will also offer access to McGee’s Design concierge service.

“Shoppers can sit down with our Concierge, look through samples, and design an entire room on-site,” shares Shea McGee, Chief Creative Officer of Studio McGee. “That combination of inspiration, product and personal guidance was really important to me.”
Outfitted to the nines with McGee’s signature blend of trending finishes and antique-inspired treasures, the storefront is rooted in authenticity. Drawing on the history-rich architecture of Trolley Square’s iconic brick structures, McGee embraces the vintage bones of the location, layering it with refined elements creating an aesthetic not easily replicated.
“We want customers to walk into our shop and feel like they’ve just walked into one of our homes,” she says. “We want it to become a gathering place, with workshops and events to connect our community of people who care about design and craftsmanship.”
